TopicImmersed Boundary Methods for Simulating Fluid-Structure InteractionProblems
ContentsThis talk introduces immersed boundary methods (IBMs) for simulating fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems. The main goal is to develop simple, accurate, and efficient numerical methods for real-world problems. First, I will show several examples of FSI problems and explain the basic idea of the immersed boundary method. A MATLAB code for simulating an oscillating bubble will also be demonstrated. I will then introduce my research on IBMs, focusing on different applications, structure-preserving methods, computational efficiency, and numerical accuracy. Before closing, I will shortly discuss future research directions for solving FSI problems using physics-informed neural networks (PINNs).
