How can we distinguish the stars? By position, brightness or color? All of these have been used in classical astronomy. But the spectroscopy was paving to the way for modern astronomy. Now we can see the unfolded lights along wavelength. It makes us to investigate the details of star lights. For example, the Harvard's computers classified the stars by spectral types using their spectra in 1900's. Here, we present the objective prism plates of spectra and their applications, similar to what the computers have done. |
